Regional formats
What regional formats do
Regional formats control how dates, times, numbers, and similar values appear. For example, the same date can appear as year/month/day, month/day/year, or day/month/year. A regional format does not change the interface language and is not a time zone.
Enterprise default and personal preference
An administrator sets the enterprise default regional format and determines the options available to employees. An employee who has not selected a personal preference inherits the enterprise default. After the employee selects a personal region, supported dates, times, and numbers follow that preference.
What to validate
- The order used for date and date-time fields.
- 12-hour or 24-hour time display.
- Decimal points and thousands separators.
- Whether lists, details, print output, exports, and reports follow the required business format.
