Internationalization
Capabilities
Internationalization gives users in different countries, regions, and language groups a localized interface and data-entry experience while they work with the same business data. This manual covers six capability areas:

Settings that are easy to confuse
- Language determines the text a user sees. The enterprise language provides the default, and a personal language can override it within the languages enabled for the enterprise.
- Time zone determines the local time used to display a date and time. It is independent of language.
- Regional format determines how dates, times, and numbers are written. Users of the same language can still use different regional formats.
Multi-currency management controls transaction currencies and conversion. Countries, regions, and address formats control geographic data and address entry. These capabilities can work together, but they do not replace one another. Privacy and compliance belongs to Enterprise Security Settings and is not part of Internationalization Settings.
Configuration precedence
Internationalization settings typically include enterprise defaults and personal preferences:
- An administrator defines the options available to the enterprise and their default values.
- An employee who has not set a personal preference inherits the enterprise default.
- When an employee selects a personal language, time zone, or regional format from the enterprise-approved options, the personal setting controls that employee’s display.
