Big object entry and permissions
This article describes the management entry location, administrative permission assignment, and data permission scope for Big Objects.
Overview
This document explains the access entry for Big Objects in Setup, the configuration of administrative permissions (including default permission assignment for roles such as System Administrator and CRM Administrator), and the scope and limitations of basic data permissions and intra-department data permissions supported by Big Objects.
Step 1: Entry
Setup: Object Management > Big Object Management
Step 2: Permissions
- Under Administrative Function Permissions, the Object Management group contains the Big Object Management permission item.
- System Administrator and CRM Administrator have this permission by default.
- Other roles do not have this permission by default. A System Administrator can assign this administrative permission to other roles.
Note: Having this administrative permission allows you to manage Big Objects (create, edit, delete, and more) in Setup.
Step 3: Data permissions
Big Object data permissions support only basic data permissions and intra-department data permissions. Data sharing, Related Team, and temporary permissions are not supported.
