Detailed description

Multi-level ordering

Channel merchant

  1. In the account list or detail page, click New Channel Merchant to create a same-name channel merchant profile (Partner object). The create page fills in the account name. Complete the remaining fields as needed.
After you create the channel merchant, the system does the following:
It creates a channel warehouse and presets a default warehouse for the channel merchant (channel merchant partner + warehouse).
  • The Warehouse object automatically creates a channel warehouse.
  • The Channel Inbound Warehouse Settings object automatically creates a record. That record is the default warehouse for later channel inventory sell-in.
alt text alt text 2. In Order Management, open the Channel Merchant menu. In the list or detail page, click Enable External Account to create channel users and assign External Roles.
After the External Organizations record is created, the system writes the External Organizations ID into Related Teams of the warehouse and account. The channel merchant can then view its warehouses and accounts in Channel Distribution.
Notes:
  • Channel merchant is a Record Type of Partner. Creating a channel merchant creates a partner. Because the merchant also places orders, you must relate an Associated Account profile.
alt text * If Order Management has no preset page template, create a page template and configure the menu.
Channel trading relationship
  1. Trading relationship types
Channel trading relationships have two types: organization direct supply and channel supply. One account can have multiple trading relationships, such as organization direct supply from the brand owner and channel supply from another dealer.
  • Organization direct supply: the brand owner supplies a direct-sales account. You can disable the preset Organization Direct Supply relationship, but you cannot delete it.
  • Channel supply: a dealer supplies an indirect account.
These two supply types let the brand owner maintain trading relationships by business need and improve channel operating efficiency.
alt text 2. Automatic creation of trading relationships
When a salesperson creates a direct-sales account, the system automatically creates an organization direct supply trading relationship. You cannot manually delete or disable that relationship. When the account is deleted or merged, the trading relationship is deleted or merged with it.
After a channel merchant enables an account and creates a channel account, the system automatically creates a channel supply trading relationship. The relationship defaults to Enabled. You can change it as needed.
alt text Notes:
  • For a channel supply trading relationship, the default names come from the account name. Changing the related partner on the account does not change the trading relationship.
  • You can edit an automatically generated trading relationship according to your adjustments.
  1. Other trading relationship actions
When one account has multiple suppliers, you can create a channel trading relationship manually. You can delete and restore the relationship. When the brand owner creates a trading relationship manually, the system automatically adds the channel merchant’s External Organization to the external related team.
alt text ##### Merchant Business Scope
  1. Merchant Business Scope description
Merchant Business Scope helps the brand owner manage dealers more precisely. The brand owner can set a Business Scope for each dealer and authorize the Product Scope that dealer can sell to lower-level channels. The brand owner can choose whether to turn on Business Scope control.
alt text * Control off: the dealer can sell all of the brand owner’s products to lower-level channels. * Control on: the dealer can sell only products in the authorized Business Scope to lower-level channels.
Set whether to enable Business Scope control.
  1. Create a merchant Business Scope
In brand-owner management scenarios, create a Business Scope for the merchant and enable Business Scope control.
NOTE: After merchant operating control is enabled, the dealer can maintain the allowed sales catalog and pricing for lower-level channels within the authorized Business Scope. Only products in the Business Scope can be sold to a Subordinate Account.
alt text Create or edit the merchant Business Scope.
  1. Enable Business Scope control and send a CRM notification
After you configure the merchant Business Scope, enable Business Scope control and preset the channel merchant’s saleable scope and Price Book. After you enable it, the system can automatically send a CRM notification. The system also notifies the merchant when you disable or change the Business Scope.
alt text
Channel saleable scope
In a strong-control model, the brand owner can configure a unified saleable scope for indirect channels.
Direct-sales business uses the standard object entry. Channel saleable scope can be created only from the Channel Saleable Scope menu, and the related Price Book is also a channel Price Book.
alt text When you create a channel saleable scope, you can set applicable partners (channel merchants) and sellable accounts. Brand owners usually do not specify a concrete channel merchant. Channel merchants cannot see a brand-owner-created channel saleable scope by default. Grant external related team permission if they need access.
alt text ##### Channel Price Book
As with channel saleable scope, create a unified channel Price Book in the strong-control model. Create the channel Price Book and relate it to the channel saleable scope. For feature details, see the sales Price Book description.
alt text #### Channel settings
alt text alt text
Channel saleable scope
In addition to the unified range created by the brand owner, each channel merchant can create its own saleable scope. If the current merchant has Business Scope control enabled, the channel merchant must maintain the saleable scope.
alt text NOTE: To see a channel saleable scope created upstream, add external data permission.
alt text ##### Channel Price Book
In addition to the unified Price Book created by the brand owner, each channel merchant can create its own Price Book. If the current merchant has Business Scope control enabled, the channel merchant must maintain the Price Book.
NOTE: To see a Price Book created upstream, add external data permission.
alt text ##### Channel inbound warehouse settings
Channel inbound warehouse settings apply when the user receives a purchase order from an Parent Channel or brand owner. If a default warehouse is set, inbound goes to that warehouse. If the system cannot get a default warehouse, it selects the most recently created warehouse.
