Configure multilevel partners and the partner hierarchy
Multilevel partner management supports hierarchies such as master agents, tier-one agents, and tier-two agents. Partners at different levels can jointly follow up on accounts and place orders.
Multiple partners can collaborate on the same account. The upstream enterprise can see how many partners are associated with the account, and authorized downstream partners can follow up on the account or place an order.
Before you start
[!IMPORTANT] - Confirm that your account can manage the Partner object and external role permissions. - Confirm that the Partner object can be shared with downstream users.
Make the Partner object available
- Confirm that the Partner object can be made available to downstream users.
- Grant the required object permissions through external roles and data permissions.
Create the hierarchy
- Create or edit a Partner record.
- Select its parent in the Parent Partner field.
- Save the hierarchy relationship.
- Review the hierarchy on the Partner record.
Configure hierarchical data access
The system adds the upstream partner’s external owner as an external related team member. This allows the upstream partner to view data submitted by downstream partners. Before release, test data visibility with roles from each hierarchy level.
Expected result
The partner hierarchy is visible, and an upstream partner can view data submitted by its downstream partners.
