Configure products, price books, and selling permissions
Products, price books, and partner scope determine which products and prices are available to downstream partners. Partners cannot place orders if the applicable price book or partner scope is not configured.
Before you start
[!IMPORTANT] - Confirm that your account can manage products and price books. - Confirm that Partner Connect and the required transaction objects are available to the partner.
Maintain product records
- Maintain product categories.
- Maintain core product information.
- Confirm that each product is available to partner transaction scenarios.
Configure a partner price book
- Enable the Price Book capability.
- Create or select a price book.
- On the price book, define the applicable partners.
- Configure the products and prices that partners can use.
- Save the price book.
The initial Applicable Partners scope is None. If no partner is selected, downstream partners cannot use the price book to place orders.
Configure selling permissions
Define the products that can be sold by each partner or partner tier. If different partners require different prices, associate each partner with the appropriate price book.
Verify the configuration
Create a quote and order with a partner user role. Confirm that only the products and prices made available to that partner can be selected.
