Understand the main DMS business process chains and the participant roles that run them.
Overview
DMS has three main process chains. They share admin configuration, and different business roles run each chain.
Core concepts
Medical device channel process
Initial qualification documents and registration certificates -> dealer authorization -> distribution agreement -> agreement Price Book -> order validation -> inbound and outbound -> flow inquiry -> compliance records
Confirm dealer and product qualifications first, then set the authorization scope and price. When an order is submitted, the system validates it against the enabled GSP rules. Shipping and inbound/outbound records form channel flow.
Export process
Master data -> export contract -> PI -> export order -> shipping notice -> Export Shipment Order -> CI/PL documents
Export operations start from accounts, products, countries and regions, trade terms, payment terms, and company entities. After the contract is approved, you can print the PI. Orders and Export Shipment Orders support later fulfillment and documents.
Furniture and building-materials special-price process
Special price request -> special-price lines -> special-price order
The brand owner uses project management to limit price, quantity, and dates. When dealers create a special-price order, they select products from the special-price lines.
Roles and responsibilities

| Dealer user | Order online and view related orders, inventory, and quality inspection records |
After you enable Manufacturing DMS, the system presets the Distributor Management and Dealer Portal apps, plus related channel-distribution roles and permissions. The Medical Device plugin, Export Management, and the ITT special price pack add their own objects and layouts after you enable or install them.
