Grant customer credit

Increase formal or temporary credit for a CRM account after a credit assessment.

Overview

When a credit grant takes effect, the credit balance updates. Formal credit can omit a validity period. Temporary credit must have a validity period, and validity periods can overlap.

Before you begin

❗
  • Credit Management is enabled.
  • An occupancy rule is available to associate.
  • A CRM account can have only one formal credit grant.

Steps

  1. Open Customer Credit Grant and create a record.
  2. Select the CRM account and choose formal credit or temporary credit.
  3. Enter the credit limit. For a Temporary Credit Limit, enter a validity period.
  4. Associate an occupancy rule. alt text alt text alt text
  5. Submit for approval. After approval, the grant takes effect and the credit balance updates.
  6. Open the CRM account and confirm that Credit Control is enabled. Occupancy does not apply until this field is on.

  • Customer credit grants support edit and void.
  • If formal credit and temporary credit use different occupancy rules, formal credit wins.

Expected result

  • The credit grant is in Effective Status.
  • The credit balance is updated.
  • After Credit Control is enabled, later documents occupy credit by rule.
