Place a non-standard product order

Place the order with a non-standard product first.

Overview

When the product is not yet clear, you can add a non-standard product first.

The system brings in general information from the non-standard product. You then complete Non-standard Product Description so later teams can identify and process the requirement.

Before you begin

[!IMPORTANT] - Role permissions: You have permission to create or edit the document. - Prerequisite configuration: Non-standard product transactions are enabled. - Product preparation: A product whose Product Type is Non-standard Product already exists. - Price preparation: To retrieve prices automatically, confirm that Price Book Details are maintained for the non-standard product.

Steps

In a Sales Order, Quote, or another in-sale transaction document, open the new or edit page.
In the product details area, click Add Non-standard Product.

If only one non-standard product exists, the system directly adds it.
If multiple non-standard products exist, select the required non-standard product on the product selection page.
In the product detail line, confirm that the system has brought in general information such as Product Category, default price, and confirmed attributes.
In the Non-standard Product Description field, enter the specific requirement.
Enter other fields as needed, such as Quantity, Warehouse, and Shipping Date.
Confirm that the detail information is correct, and save the document.

Description examples

Use Non-standard Product Description to record account requirements that are not yet standardized. Examples include:

The color of custom paint.
The inner and outer diameters of custom screws.
The required color or thickness of a pen.
The required capacity of a water cup.

Expected result and validation

The document details include a non-standard product line.
The non-standard product line keeps the description, Quantity, Warehouse, Shipping Date, and other entered information.
If the non-standard product has multiple Price Books, the system automatically uses the Price Book Details with the highest Price Book Priority.
