Create the first independent Product when the Item and multiple-Unit features are both disabled.
Learning objectives
After completing this tutorial, you can:
- Determine whether the current page uses basic Product mode.
- Enter basic Product information and save the Product.
- Confirm that the system creates an independent Product with one Unit.
Before you start
[!IMPORTANT] - Prerequisite configuration: The administrator has not enabled the Item or multiple-Unit feature. - Basic information: Prepare a Product Code, Product Name, Product Category, and Unit. - Entry point: Open the Products module and use the New feature.
Create the first basic Product
- In the Products module, click New Product.
- In the Basic Info section, enter the Product Code and Product Name.
- In the Product Category section, select a Product Category.
- In the Unit section, select one Unit.
- Enter other required information displayed on the page.
- On the Product page, click Save.

Expected results
- The system creates one independent Product record.
- Product Category and Unit belong directly to the Product.
- The Product can be referenced by business documents such as Quotes, Sales Orders, and Sales Contracts.
- When multiple Units are disabled, the Product supports only one Unit.
- Product Price is maintained through the applicable Price Book after creation.
[!TIP] If the page displays options such as Has Specifications or Multiple Units?, the administrator has enabled the corresponding feature. Return to Overview of the Product Creation and Maintenance Process and select the appropriate scenario.
