Add from products
Learn how the system automatically matches a Price Book price when you add a Product to a business document in the standard way.
Overview
In a Sales Order, Quote, or Sales Contract, the most common workflow is to select an Account first and then add a Product. After the administrator configures Price Books, the system determines the price rules that apply to the Account and returns the Price Book price.
Operation scenario
When you create a Sales Order, Opportunity, Quote, or Sales Contract, select the Product to sell from the Product catalog. The system matches the price according to the configured Pricing Rule and Price Book rules.
Before you start
[!IMPORTANT] - Role permissions: You need view and edit permissions for the target business document. - Prerequisite configuration: The administrator has enabled Price Books and maintained the target Account, Product, and Price Book Details. - Dependencies: If the business uses validity-period pricing, tiered pricing, segmented pricing, or multi-Unit pricing, the system calculates it while adding the Product.
Procedure
- Select Account Name in the target business document.
- Click Add Product in the Order Products section.
- Select a Product that is available for sale.
- Enter the purchase quantity in the Product row if needed.
- Select the current Unit in the Product row if the Product supports multiple Units.
- View the Price Book Name, Price Book Discount, and Price Book Price returned by the system.
- Confirm the price and save the document.

System processing logic
When you add from Products, the system usually:
- Identifies the current Account.
- Identifies the current Product.
- Checks whether the current date falls within a validity period.
- Checks whether the purchase quantity falls within a quantity range.
- Checks whether the current Unit has independent pricing.
- If multiple Price Books match, determines the final price by Price Book Priority.
Information you can see
After you add a Product, the Order row displays these Price Book fields:
- Price Book: Name of the matched Price Book.
- Price Book Details: The specific pricing record row.
- Price Book Discount: Discount configured for the detail row.
- Price Book Price: The final actual price.
Product selection limitations
After Price Books are enabled, the Product selector shows only:
- Products listed in the Product records.
- If Available Sales Scope is enabled, Products within the Available Sales Scope.
If a Product is missing from the list, it may not be listed or may be outside your Available Sales Scope.
