Setting Target Values

Step 2: Setting Target Values in Multi-Dimensional Target Management

I. Operations on Target Values

1.1 Business Scenario Example - Assessing Personnel

Configure target values for the target rule “Assess Personnel Order Performance.” For configuration details, please refer to Configure Target Rules Business Scenario 1.
  1. Menu Entry: Target
    • Note: Only Roles with “View List” permission for “Target Values” can see this menu entry.
    • In “Target Rules,” select the target rule to configure, click on the target rule row to enter the “Target Value Configuration” page.

  1. Target Value Configuration:
    • The system automatically initializes with empty target values, so no need to create new ones.
    • You can batch edit rows, columns, or individual cells.
    • Monthly summaries are automatically aggregated into quarterly, and quarterly into yearly.
    • You can quickly fill department targets with the summary target if they are equal, eliminating the need for manual input.
    • Supports deleting target values for “Inactive” employees without affecting department target values.

  1. Target Value Import:
    • For batch addition of target values, follow the process: Import - Download Data Template - Set target values in the Excel file - Import - Upload the Excel file to add.
    • For batch modification of target values for certain people or departments in specific months, it is recommended to: Export all existing data, make changes based on the exported data, and then import. Note: Empty values in the data will also update target values.

  1. Locking: After setting target values, CRM administrators and target administrators can lock them. Once locked, only CRM administrators and target administrators can modify target values.
  2. Export: Target values can be exported.
  3. Modification Records: Target values provide modification records to resolve disputes over changes.
  4. View Rules: You can view the basic information of defined target rules.

1.2 Business Scenario Example - Assessing Accounts

Configure target values for the target rule “Assess Account Sales.” For configuration details, please refer to Configure Target Rules Business Scenario 2.
  1. Menu Entry: Target
    • Note: Only Roles with “View List” permission for “Target Values” can see this menu entry.
    • In “Target Rules,” select the target rule to configure, click on the target rule row to enter the “Target Value Configuration” page.
picture coming soon:
  1. Target Value Configuration: If the number of accounts is small, you can directly set target values on the page.
    • Batch create targets by selecting accounts for batch addition. Each person can select accounts for which they have data permissions.
    • Batch edit rows, columns, delete, or edit individual cells.
    • Monthly summaries are automatically aggregated into quarterly, and quarterly into yearly. You can switch fiscal years and search by account name.

  1. Target Value Import: If the number of accounts is large, it is recommended to set target values offline in Excel and then import the data into the system.
    • New import supports two data recognition methods:
      • Unique ID: When duplicate account names are allowed, use this method. Include the account ID in the file (account IDs can be exported from the account list page for batch retrieval) to ensure uniqueness.
      • Primary Attribute: When duplicate account names are not allowed, use this method. The account name will determine uniqueness. The system will not import accounts with duplicate names.

  • Update import:
    • Recommended process: (1) First, add the accounts to be assessed by selecting them on the target value page through “New.” (2) “Update Import” - Download the template. At this point, you do not need to manually add account names to the template. (3) Set target values offline and then import.
    • The primary attribute is defined by the combination of target rule + fiscal year + account name to uniquely determine a row of target value data.

II. Permissions for Target Values

For detailed permissions, please refer to Multi-Dimensional Target Management Related Permissions.

2.1 Operational Permissions

2.1.1 Edit
  • Target Administrators can set target values uniformly. This Role is preset in the system.
  • Ordinary Employees can also configure target values, depending on the “Allow Personal Target Modification” setting in the corresponding rule.
    • First: If an employee’s Role does not have “Edit” permission for target value objects, they cannot edit, regardless of the “Allow Personal Target Modification” setting.
    • Second: If an employee’s Role has “Edit” permission for target value objects:
      • If “Allow Personal Target Modification” is checked:
        • Ordinary employees can edit their own targets, superiors can edit subordinates’ targets, and department heads can edit targets for employees in their department and the department itself.
        • Superiors and department heads can edit targets they have permission for, including “Shared With Me” personnel target values.
      • If “Allow Personal Target Modification” is not checked:
        • Ordinary employees cannot edit their own targets (including superiors and department heads, who cannot set targets for themselves). Superiors can edit subordinates’ targets, and department heads can set targets for employees in their department (but not for the department itself).
        • Superiors and department heads can set targets for subordinate departments.
        • Cannot edit “Shared With Me” personnel target values.
2.1.2 Import, Export
  • Configured through the Role’s “Target Values” “Import” and “Export” permissions.
2.1.3 Target Value Menu Entry
  • Roles with “View Permission” for “Target Values” can see this menu entry.

2.2 Data Permissions

2.2.1 Whose Target Values Are Visible
  • Determined by the data of visible objects “Personnel” / “Accounts” / “Products” / “Partners.”
    • Personnel: In addition to Org Structure permissions (visible to my subordinates, departments, and sub-departments I am responsible for), it also includes “Shared With Me” personnel object data. You can obtain target value data permissions for personnel by sharing “Personnel.” Example: If Ye Mingzhu is not the head of the sales department but needs to see the sales department’s target and completion values, you can share the sales department’s “Personnel” data with Ye Mingzhu. Then, Ye Mingzhu can see the sales department’s target values on the target value list page and in the Chart.
    • Accounts: Visible accounts on the account list page determine visible target values for those accounts.
    • Products: Visible products on the product list page determine visible target values for those products.
    • Partners: Visible partners on the partner list page determine visible target values for those partners.

2.2.2 What Target Rules Are Visible
  • Target rules applicable to me, my subordinates, and departments I am responsible for, within the scope of visible “Personnel” / “Accounts” / “Products” target values. However, you can only view target value data for which you have data permissions.

III. Target Administrator Role

  • Employees with the “Target Administrator Role” can see and operate all enterprise target rules and target values on the front end, suitable for scenarios where enterprise target settings are uniformly set by a dedicated person.

  • If this Role also needs backend management permissions for “Target Rules,” you can add management roles under Role Permission Management > Manage Functional Permissions, configure “Target Rules” permissions, and assign this Role to the target administrator.
